Cup: City Hall Passages
Cup: City Hall Passages
Mug Rathauspassagen - or simply: prefab mug. Because the facade of a prefab building called "Rathauspassagen" on Alexanderplatz is shown on this ceramic mug.
The Rathauspassagen were built between 1967 and 1972 according to plans by the architects Heinz Graffunder, Lothar Köhler, Peter Schweizer and Walter Wenzel. The Zzeile building is often referred to as the socialist version of the Corbusier House in West Berlin. In 2006, Oliver Päßler published the documentary film Straße Number One about the Rathauspassagen.

prefabricated cups
We believe that a Berlin souvenir should highlight all aspects of this city. And an essential aspect of Berlin are facades - for example the gray facades of the prefabricated buildings.
That's why we invented the prefabricated cups. We probably created more of a souvenir for the Berliners themselves. We like it!
